LEADERSHIP
Leadership is a key part of training within the RAF Air Cadets. As you become more experienced as a cadet you'll take on extra responsibilities and will have a range of opportunities to develop your self-confidence and leadership skills. The leadership syllabus is split into 4 different levels, have a look below to see what you need to do to complete each syllabus.

BLUE LEADERSHIP

You will be taught how to use the SMEAC principle to brief a group of cadets and you will then put this into practice by successfully leading 2 approved leadership exercises.
​

BRONZE LEADERSHIP​
​
This develops the briefing technique (SMEAC) introduced during the Blue Leadership Syllabus, will allow you to explore the fundamentals of leadership theory. This syllabus includes an introduction to action centred leadership, leadership styles and introduces more advanced techniques such as PICSIE.

- Completed 4 hours of classroom learning.
- 12 Months Attendance.

SILVER LEADERSHIP
​
​This syllabus builds upon the briefing, planning and leadership methodologies introduced in the Bronze syllabus, and aids in further developing practical ability. Further building on Action Centred Leadership, exploring personality types, roles and cultures within groups, and understanding basic concepts in prioritisation and delegation.

- Completed 8 hours of classroom learning.
- 24 Months Attendance.

The Gold Syllabus consists of the delivery of a challenging leadership programme, delivered in areisdential format and focusing on developing potential future leadership instructors.
